Guilty as charged, I am owning up to my own ridiculous consumerism and endless need to buy junk I don’t need. I have always been drawn to sales racks, discount stores, and buying endless amounts of crap. Growing up in a lower middle-class family made me value money however, not enough to outweigh the need to spend. I was never spoiled by parents, but I wasn’t deprived either. From an early age I found ways to make money and as soon as I made some it was spent on clothes, bedroom decor, CDs, (yeah, I’m dating myself lol) etc. Now fast forward into adulthood and I still find myself being drawn by retail stores on the regular.
